Timeline

  • Report Friday, June 21 to Eastern Mennonite University (Harrisonburg, VA) for Huddle Leader Training

  • Actual Camp Dates: Sunday, June 23 (afternoon) to Thursday, June 27 (noon)

  • Finished by Thursday afternoon

Sports Offered: Baseball, Basketball (M/F), Field Hockey, Football, Soccer (M/F), Softball, Volleyball

Ages of Campers: 13-18 years

Responsibilities

  • Lead a small group of high school student athletes for the week

    • Build relationships with athletes in your huddle (you and them and between one another)

    • Guide them to various sports practices and meal times

    • Facilitate small group discussion time after chapel meetings each night

    • Answer questions about life and faith from a biblical worldview

  • Act as a positive role model and servant leader

  • Assist coaches in sports practices

  • Stay overnight to college dorms

  • Act under the instruction of FCA staff, volunteers and coaches

  • Spend meaningful time with other huddle leaders

Typical Day:

  • Breakfast at 7AM

  • Sports Practices

  • Lunch Time

  • Sports Practice

  • Free time / Clean-up

  • Dinner Time

  • Chapel

  • Huddle

  • Dorm time / Lights out by 11PM

  1. Sign up as Huddle Leader

  2. Complete Ministry Leader Application - Background check and FCA’s Statement of Faith

  3. You will be contacted by the camp’s huddle leader coordinator

a huddle leader should be: a SPIRITUAL LEADER, ENCOURAGER, YOURSELF (BE REAL), VULNERABLE, UNDERSTANDIN, LISTENER, FRIENDLy, OBSERVANT and PROACTIVE
